Multiply That By Two!

Warning: This is gonna be a lengthy post.

Finally after Raya, we have started to sit down and started planning the things to buy as well as what to do with the extra room. Initially one of the rooms, I used it mainly to store Lola’s logistics coz the store was filled to the brim when the other partner needed space also for some Lola logistics to prepare for her wedding. Now that my partner has settled down with in her new crib, it was time to clean up the store and pass back what she needs to use and for me to transfer out items from that spare room into the store. 3 years worth of stuffs from when we shifted till now. I think the neighbours must have thought that we are shift out coz literally we are throwing stuffs away every night! Finally that room is cleared and we have a better picture of how and where things can be placed.

Here are some inspirations from Pinterest that got me all excited to get the project up and running! (Images are directly linked from the source)

We have already bought the paint colour for the room and hopefully once the husband is not doing any OT, we’ll get started on it.

Instead of the sofa, I’m using back the white swing that I had in my old room for when I was staying in Bukit Batok (in white). Hopefully that serves at a rest are for when I need to breastfeed (hopefully I am able to breastfeed).

We are still contemplating on things to buy coz whatever we need to get, we’ll just have to multiply it by two. Alhamdulillah, we have 2 of his friends who are kind enough to sponsor a cot each. We weren’t able to place the cot in our masterbedroom coz we created somewhat of a platform in the room and there isn’t just any space. So the cots goes in the spare room. What cot to buy, we are still contemplating. Initially we wanted to go for BonBebe Alexia 4-in-1 cot, but during the recent Baby Fair, the distributors mentioned that they are not carrying in white anymore nationwide. Bummer! Hopefully at the upcoming fairs, they are gonna bring it in. Thinking of practicality and hoping that the twins are gonna use the cot till they are big since we have options to turn the cots to beds.

Else we were in awe with the rocking cot from Farlin. Yet to read reviews but plus point for us were the rocking part and converts to a bed & playpen as the babies gets older. Plus has white! 🙂 Click here for the conversion info.

Since the husband is working in Kimberly Clarke, producing Huggies, we have that department covered. He has already started ordering by the cartons for newborns and the small-sized diapers. They are also giving 2 cartons free for when the twins are born! Rezeki! 🙂

The only thing that we have bought is the stroller. We settled for a tandem stroller from City Select Baby Jogger. I was looking at it at Mothercare and it costs SGD $1,600 for 2 seats. O_o. Why I chose this is that as compared to other tandem strollers, I did not like how in the other strollers, the 2nd seat was directly below the 1st one. Seemed like the bottom child is being suffocated! :p The wight is abt 12kg and the folding part seems easy. For more information on the stroller, click here. They have a separate bassinet kit that I can just order from Amazon instead of buying the bassinet itself. Am lucky that the husband and his malaysian colleagues are chummy so there are some who went all the way to help us find a shop for us in Johor that sells the model that we wanted. We wanted it in Teal but throughout JB, there isn’t any and we had to settle for the Ruby colour. His colleague was even nice enough to drive together with us to the shop and made sure that we got what we wanted. We got the stroller in one of the baby shops near Tebrau City, Johor Jaya to be exact, at a steal, for about SGD$1.1K after conversion. 🙂 So it’s now sitting nicely in the storeroom waiting to be used!

So far I’m doing up a list of the wants and needs to buy for the room, for myself, for the babies, etc. Will share it online once I have firmed up the details. Am lucky that I have friends that did the compiled list and shares them! :p I guess the small-small items can be bought during baby fairs that are coming up in September and October.

We went to the Baby Fair in August at Suntec and were a lil’ overwhelmed at the variety of things and both of us agreed that it was still too early to get anything since we have yet to know the gender. Here are the 2 fairs that we’d be going to and hopefully, I’ll be able to go through the fairs!

26 – 28 September 2014 (Mom & Baby Expo, Persada Johor)
If you have transport and willing to go to JB, why not! It’s really just across the Causeway aja.

2 – 5 October 2014 (Baby Market, Singapore Expo)
Dubbed as the biggest baby fair in Singapore but by big = ALOT ALOT of ppl! And with the big tum tum! >____<

Hopefully I am able to get most stuffs from the one in JB else I’ll have to brace myself for the one in SG and then the hubs also have to brace himself for me being anal with crowds! Hahhahahah. Good luck to both of us on this journey! 🙂

My spare room is already in Grey and White. So maybe we’ll just add a splash of pink accents to make it ready for baby.
