I had been listening to 98.7FM on the way to work and have heard about the Justin Timberlake 20/20 Experience competition where you’ll need to submit a Spotify Playlist and if you qualify, you get a chance to fight for 2 all expense paid trip to watch Justin Timberlake in the O2 Arena in London, courtesy of Sony Music SG  and KLM. So the last  day itself, on Thursday, 20 March 2014, while I was lying down on my sofa, I was thinking what the heck, no harm trying. So the next day, towards the end of the day, Wendy from 98.7FM called and told me that I qualified! Wohhoooo.

Immediately called up the partner asnd asked her if she wanted to join with me. Obviously both of us were worried if they’d ask us trivia questions, his life, his albums, his songs, etc. Gahhhhhh! Excited much! But later on, Arfah mentioned that she wasn’t able to join me as she had a family emergency. After much persuasion, I managed to get Yet to join in with me. Told her to start reading up and listening to songs hehehe…

Apparently I had macarons to bake that night and a set-up at Admiralty at 9.30am. I told her that if she needs to ask me anything just text me and so Yet literally stayed till about 3 – 4am. We gave ach other trivia questions…

Here are some that you may not know! *lol* I tell you! Both of us became overnight die-hard fans of Justin and really dwelling into his history!

So came the event, I waited for Yet at the Cathay. We had to register by 3.30pm They had a stage!! When Yet came, both of us admitted that whatever we have “studied” for last night was all GONE! It was like really studying last minute for an exam! Bahhhh! So event started @ 4pm and there were 14 teams of 2. We were already anticipating some question but alas – cheh!!!!! It was group games in relation to his 20/20 album!

Round 1 – The top 10 teams who come back to the stage with 20 $1-coins qualify for round 2! I ran like mad to 7-11 and I was 2nd in line to get the cashier to change my notes to coins! Wohooo qualified!
Round 2 – This was a lil’ hard for us coz we had to get 20 items that starts from the letter “T”, “K” or “O” from his song TKO. Top 5 teams will qualify! We were the 4th team to qualify! Wohoooo! 1 in 5 chances to win that golden ticket!
Round 3 – They gave a list of items and we had to take a picture with these items and 1st team to come back with all 20 pictures wins! We had things like a guy in a blazer, a guy in a black tie, the istana (so imagine us running from the Cathay to Istana), on the MRT (go in take pic and come out again), etc…. It was madness I tell ya! Our only mistake was that we did not split up, so prolly that affected the timing.. We came in 3rd! Booohoooo!

All in all I had fun and was thankful to Yet for being such a sport and layan me – a 30 something year old entering all these things! Who knows – till the next competition! 🙂
