Aspirations

I am blessed to have Ola Lola in my life. Blessed to have a partner who has the same mindset of what we want in the company and blessed to be where we are today. I couldn’t imagine if I don’t have Ola Lola in my life. Both myself and the partner have been doing it since 2004. We started off from a humble site selling accessories that we sourced from overseas and which made us travel ever so often. It was like 3 months intervals and off we went to meet up our suppliers. It was good business when we 1st started and soon we started doing our own accessories, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. sourcing the parts from overseas as well.

Those were the days. I know both of us felt a sense of achievement when we were featured in various magazines, radio interviews, a TV show and to top it off, we managed to sustain a month-long, full stall, stint at Geylang Bazaar. it was far better then how we started off, i.e. renting a table space from one of our friends, Ezzad. To be able to get a full stall, painting it, conceptualizing the look, the tiredness of coming right after work and staying till 1- 2am… it was all worth it coz we know we can if we put our heart into it.

We then ventured into clothings online. The uncountable photoshoots with the partner, editing and sourcing! It was fun but hectice I tell you! The market soon became saturated coz there were many blogshops popping up via LiveJournal, WordPress, Multiply, etc. We found it hard to keep up with the constant change in fashion while still holding our full-time jobs. Soon after, we went into hiatus for quite a while and eventually till what we are now doing now – weddings, birthdays, dessert tables and wedding gift trays. It has been a whirlwind for us and I think I could say that this could be our calling. To think that we are in this new industry for only a year but the amount of of response that we got were beyond our expectations.

So what’s next? Of course our aspirations now would be, to have a shop space and doing it full-time. Someday! I think it’s just about building up our portfolio, finances and us settling down in our personal aspects, like house, family-planning, etc. And support from both our our spouses! We are always hoping that there is a kind soul, somewhere out there, who’d like to be our investor! I’m sure we’d jump the gun and do it hehheh… *wishful thinking*

For now we can only dream and hoping it’ll be a reality one day! Insya-allah!
