It’s our 5th wedding anniversary and its has been 14 long years together! Wasn’t much of a celebration for us since both of us were working on the anniversary day itself. Decided to surprise him with a candlelight western dinner but he had to work late so we ended up having dinner only around close to 10pm! So plans of surprising him was a bit of a let down coz he expected me to be home by then. Meh! The next day we had a family wedding, another wedding, an invitation to a housewarming and a baby shower (so no chance of spending time on our own terms).

So on Sunday, we watched Lego Movie (which was funny-but-draggy-and-boring) at the same time – go figure! He was pulling such a long face coz I dragged him to watch it and just coz he is not a carton/animation movie go-er kinda person (to which he ended up sleeping most of the time). A bit of desserts, book shopping and small gifts for each other and that marked our 5th year! Boring ol’ farts aren’t we!

But in these 5 years or rather the 14 years together, I have learnt to let go on a fair bit of things. COMMUNICATION is key – coz without it, we assume too much, which leads to useless bickerings (which will eventually prolong and you end up not remembering what you fought about in the 1st place!). It’s an on-going process and hopefully both of us learn to be better individuals for each other.
