Got this sweet deal from All Deals Asia but turned out to be not so sweet after all… *disappointing* I have always had a skeptic thinking of spa packages online in Singapore. Either they’d be persistent in wanting us to sign up for a package or sub-standard job as we bought it at a promo price. The spa consists of steam bath, shower, back scrub, back mask and a choice of body massage of Shiatsu, Balinese, Swedish, Aromatherapy or Detoxification massage. We came about 4pm on the dot, after registration, we settled in and it was already 4.15pm when we started our steam bath for half an hour and then followed by a cold shower. Then 2 aunties came and spoke to us in an ear-straining kinda English – explaining to us if we wanted the heater mat to be switched on, that we’ll be doing our body scrub first. They started on our back scrub which I think my mother could help me scrub my back better. :p They put the scrub on, scrub 3 – 5 times up, down, left, right, put a wet towel and wiped it off. Placed the mask over our backs and then showed us where the switch is if we wanted to switch off the heater mat if it gets too warm. Hello! We are on our backs and the switch is on the floor, how’d you expect us to switch it off on our own! 20 mins was up and they cleaned our backs and started on the massage. Again, I think my grandmother massages me better! Can’t feel much. Not much pressure being placed on the massage at all. I started first but I ended first as well. Time check, 5.45pm. Not even a full 120 min as stated in the voucher purchased. Oh and their complimentary dessert was green bean soup.
I was expecting a lil’ posh, feeling tai-tai kinda of treatment coming from a spa in Resort World Sentosa but it was far from my expectation. I guess there are other small-scaled spas in the heartlands which could do a better job. I wondered is it because we were paying a discounted amount which then explains the discounted treatment. Bahhh!
Verdict: Not recommended.
