Just a random post after looking @ my cousin’s tooth coming out. This happened a few months back. I had been having fever on and off and the gum around my top left molar started to swell. Friends keep on telling me that it could be my wisdom tooth but then again in December last year, while going for my full check up, my dentist told me that that all my wisdom tooth are growing straight as in nothing major that I would have to extract them. The pain became unbearable so nak tak nak, I set up an appointment on the very same day. The horror when the dentist told me, “Ok I’ll prep you to remove the tooth!” O_o I was expecting “Ok set up another appointment and we’ll remove your tooth”. I was on the verge of crying. No anesthetics! So I’ll be wide awake the whole time! She came to me with a LONG METAL SYRINGE like in the photo below and say “Ok, I’ll be injecting your gums!” THE HORROR! *dramamama, i know – but that’s what I’m feeling!* :p

So she told me to hold on for a few minutes, came back with an EXTRACTOR!!! She tried to yank it out. Didn’t come out. So what she did next was inject again, then used her thum to push down the tooth! Huuuwaaaaaaaa….. After pushing it down, she used the extractor again and the tooth came out. The pain was surprisingly bearable but after looking at the tools she was using, I choose to close my eyes right after the extractor came into the picture.

Sadist I know, but here’s my wisdom tooth! I do wonder why I do not need to go for an extensive surgery like what my other friends had to go to. Some having all 4 taken out at one go. So for now I feel a hole at the back. My dentist told me that the other 3 are growing straight so I won’t have to worry about taking them out anytime soon.
